“What do Amaranthine of the turkey clans exchange during the Vernal Equinox?”
Jacques frowned.
Rook held up his hands. “I know plenty of pheasant lore, but none of my acquaintances are turkeys.”
“Pheasants?”
Rook grinned easily. “Longtime friends. Part of our enclave.”
Harrison announced more bingo, and Jacques and Rook agreed that the final round of trivia would be winner-takes-all.
And then the penny dropped. “Perchance, does your enclave include squirrels?”
“That’s right.”
“Do you know… Kip?”
“Cheeky brat. But a good friend to have.”
Of all the foxy…! Jacques was here on false pretenses. Argent had never needed help!
