Quote Graphics. While creating all the lovely book covers for my fanfiction, we included quote graphics, which make it fun (and cute) to share snippets from my stories. Next time I reread a fic, I’ll keep an eye out for lines I like. In the meantime, perhaps you’d like to suggest some? Send me favorite lines from any of my stories (fanfics & originals), and they may end up on quote graphics like these. ::twinkle::

My email is always.forthright@gmail.com … or you can simply make suggestions in comments.

Lord Charming

Tuesday’s Tote. I’ve been posting a new fandom book cover to Goodreads & to the fanfic site each week. (Well, okay. I missed last week.) As an added bonus, the new pattern becomes available in my Threadless & TeePublic shopfronts. Totes, masks, backpacks, zipper bags, journals, and note cards are available. This week we’re adding an homage to Lord Charming.

Summary: More than Sesshoumaru’s pride took a blow when he lost his arm. He’s in a delicate position… and desperate enough to seek the advice of a self-proclaimed expert. Canon Divergence. [Sesshoumaru x Kagome]

Longest Story. Based on chapter count (not word count) Lord Charming is my longest fanfic, coming in at 800 chapters. Random Fact: Every chapter title is two-words long. Just because.

FAQ: How long will Lord Charming be?

Ever since I jumped back into fandom’s playground and resumed Lord Charming, people have been asking some variation of this question:

  • How long will Lord Charming be?
  • How much longer are you going to drag this out?
  • Are you trying to reach 1,000 chapters?
  • Will you ever complete this story?
  • I hope it never ends!
  • I love the courtship rituals!
  • You ruined everything with the courtship arc.
  • Where are the lemons?!? There had better be lemons!!!

Yes, this story is long. No, I’m not purposefully dragging things out. I’ve always known that this is the direction the story would take, but I wasn’t exactly sure how long it would take me to spin it all out. (I’m three parts pantser, people. This is me having fun.) Continue reading

Lord Charming: Curbing

I’m sometimes asked to explain references in Lord Charming because the reader doesn’t remember details I wrote about months (or even years) ago. Most of the time, I recommend a reread. Stories have more impact when they’re happening. Explaining what happened is just so … anticlimactic. But I have to sympathize with this reader because “curbing” was coined back in 2012.

In a review for Lord Charming, Chapter 692, “They Waited,”  Kalaharia wrote:

Okay for the life of me I cant remember what curbing means. Could you possibly explain?

Rather than explain, I’ll take you back to the pertinent chapters: Continue reading

Lord Charming Prompts

At the footer of every Lord Charming update, I record the original posting date, the writing prompt, and the word count. The notations are a relic of my involvement in everything from the IYFG & LJ contest communities to Dokuga’s Drabble/Drawble Nights. But ever since I started updating Lord Charming again, I’ve had nothing but a lonely “N/A” on the prompt line. Let’s change that. Continue reading
