Claimer: I do hereby claim all rights and responsibility for the characters in this series of vignettes because the Amaranthine Saga is mine. (Which means I should probably behave myself since anything I say or do could be taken as canon.) Indulge the lot of us, especially the confused one.

Sad Huddle
Jacques sat before Sentinel, whose gaze was entirely mournful. His eyes were the same amber as Sonnet’s. A Skybellow trait.
“I’m glad we’ve a moment alone. Argent suggested I have a word.” From an inside pocket, Jacques withdrew a crystal and held it out on his palm.
Sentinel slowly uncurled a fist to cover it.
“Have I ever actually told you that you’re adorable when confused?”
If anything, Sentinel’s mood took another downward spiral.
“Aren’t you happy for Sonnet?”
“Fostering I can understand. But… why mothering?” Sentinel hunched miserably. “Is the reason he doesn’t want to be a father… me?”

What a lovely twist 😍 Not an angry father just a confused one to whom it’s important what his child thinks of him. And Sonnet has the chance to show her family who she really is. A proud foster mom, a wolf and a cherished friend. Just Sonnet.
