Claimer: I do hereby claim all rights and responsibility for the characters in this series of vignettes because the Amaranthine Saga is mine. (Which means I should probably behave myself since anything I say or do could be taken as canon.) Indulge the lot of us, especially the one who’s been drawn in.

Have it Out
Jacques stormed out, but Argent quickly found and cornered him. “I cannot give you what you want.”
“You don’t know what I want.”
“I do.” He cocked a brow. “I always have.”
Jacques colored. “That was before.”
Argent sniffed lightly, which was mortifying. Jacques tried to will himself calm.
“W-with you, I’m safe from the monsters.”
“What if I am a monster?”
“Not you.”
“I have lied to you. Repeatedly.”
“Not anymore,” Jacques staunchly declared.
“You are caught in a lie right now.”
Suddenly, the world tilted and shifted, and Jacques was standing on the seam between sand and sea.
