Claimer: I do hereby claim all rights and responsibility for the characters in this series of vignettes because the Amaranthine Saga is mine. (Which means I should probably behave myself since anything I say or do could be taken as canon.) Indulge the lot of us, especially the one finds what they’re looking for.

Friendly Persuasion
In the guest suite, Timur sat on the floor with Sinder, who asked, “What’ll you be when you grow up?”
“Big.”
“What else?”
“Strong.”
Juuyu murmured, “They have been at it for half an hour.”
Michael looked impressed. Jacques couldn’t imagine why.
“Will you train to be a chef?” asked Sinder.
“Nope. A battler!”
Sinder smirked. “How about a butler?”
“Battler!”
“Sure about that? I might change your mind.”
Timur laughed. “You can try.”
“Touch my nose.”
The boy did.
“Touch your nose.”
Same result, but slower.
“Next session, sign up for butler classes.”
Timur grinned impudently at Sinder. “Battler!”

Aww.
Found some time yesterday and finished reading Mikoto. In my mind these moments with the same cast is like looking at memories.
Gives me the warm fuzzies ❤️ and as a mom of an almost 3 year old I totally relate to Michael in this.

So, he was too young to remember Sinder. Interesting! And Sinder didn’t remember him?

I think Timur remembered Sinder, but Sinder didn’t remember TIMUR (right away).

Timur is 12, and meeting Sinder was a big deal for him.
It’s more accurate to say that Sinder doesn’t *recognize* Timur after he’s doubled in years & gained considerable height, breadth, and skillz.
