LMM 183: Asking the Wrong Questions

Claimer: I do hereby claim all rights and responsibility for the characters in this series of vignettes because the Amaranthine Saga is mine. (Which means I should probably behave myself since anything I say or do could be taken as canon.) Indulge the lot of us, especially the loving one.

Asking the Wrong Questions

Jacques found Juuyu difficult to read… until those strikingly orange eyes settled on Lilya. Brows lifting slightly, he held out his hands in a silent offer.

Michael beamed as if he’d done something supremely clever and passed along his daughter.

“Are all Amaranthine foolish about babies?” blurted Jacques.

Juuyu calmly countered, “Is love foolish?”

Which ripped at Jacques, because he’d often played the fool. But they weren’t talking about affairs of the heart. Letting his chin fall to his chest, he watched Kyrie reaching for Lilya. Jacques changed his question. “Are all Amaranthine wise about love?”

“Does love require wisdom?”

  2. 1. Oooh, right. Yesterday was FRIDAY. I was distracted. By Pokemon. ::shifty eyes::
    2. Friendly Timeline Refresher: It is currently June (following the first anniversary of the Emergence in February). Which means:

Lilya & Kyrie are 6 months old
    Timur is 12
    Akira is 14
    Jacques is 23
