Claimer: I do hereby claim all rights and responsibility for the characters in this series of vignettes because the Amaranthine Saga is mine. (Which means I should probably behave myself since anything I say or do could be taken as canon.) Indulge the lot of us, especially the bossy ones.

Homecoming
“Real kids? Are you not real?”
“Not born-here real,” Nonny muttered sulkily.
“Who was born here?”
Michael’s children, as it happened. Jacques had known baby Lilya had older siblings, at least in a vague, disinterested way. Names mentioned in passing. “I have met Isla.”
“Yeah, her. She’s nosy and bossy.” Nonny wrinkled his nose and further reported, “Annika’s just little, and Darya’s grumpy and bossy.”
“I appreciate the warning.” Jacques carried Nonny through the side door that opened onto the full-bloom garden that was Gingko’s domain. “All girls, then?”
“Nah. Timur’s pretty good,” admitted Nonny. “Oh. And Lady’s brother came.”
