Page upon page of notes, liberally splashed with color. At first, Sesshoumaru didn’t understand the shapes. Long, slender triangles topped many pages, each nuanced by multiple layers of a plethora of colors blended together. Only when he pieced together an accompanying note did he realize. “My stripes?”
“Yes,” said Kohaku.
Sesshoumaru’s bafflement increased. “They change?”
“No. At least, not for me.” Kohaku’s gaze was steady. “Kagome-sama sees you differently.”
“I do not understand.”
“Neither did she, at first. But she wanted to. This is proof of the effort she made.”
Going back to the beginning, Sesshoumaru settled in to read.
