Jacques yelped, and Sinder surfaced. “Did I nick you?”

“I’m ticklish there?”

“Where?” He wriggled his fingers threateningly. “Show me.”

“You utter brat!”

“That’s rich, coming from you.” Sinder indicated Deece. “He’s the mature one. Though I’m not sure which of us has the years…?”

Deece murmured, “I reached my attainment.”

“But young, I’ll bet,” said Sinder. “Like me.”

“Young?” Jacques echoed. “How young… comparatively speaking.”

“In human years? You have the advantage.”

Him. Eldest. “Does seniority net me anything interesting?”

“You netted a dragon.” Sinder’s teeth flashed in a coy smile. “Come on, sempai. I’ll give you a ride.”
