ART: Perfect Fit

Governed by Whimsy. While you’re (hopefully) enjoying the newest Songs tale, here’s art for the previous one. Ambrose is no doubt attired for some new theatrical in this Rococo-inspired ensemble. And the shoes! “The very kind of extravagance that he both craved and could not have.”

• • •

“My proportions require specialty craftsmanship. And fittings.” Which was as close as Ambrose would come to admitting he had big feet.

Release Day

Hemmed in Silver. Today’s the day! The 5th Songs of the Amaranthine tale has released. Please, enjoy. And since such tales are short & sweet, I’ll make this post do double duty as the Squee Post for Hemmed in Silver.

Fairies in the garden. Frost on the pumpkins. Farmhands at the dance. Wyn Outler doesn’t talk about where he came from (or how long ago). All part of the vows he took when he and his best friend turned their backs on the In-between. Decades later, when a letter arrives from an orphan boy who thinks he’s found his uncle, Wyn faces the monumental task of welcoming two children into a household rife with secrets.

Alfie is quite sure Merritt House is magical. Uncle Wyn’s quirky rules only add to the farm’s mystique. He’d do anything to stay. Even if it means pretending not to notice that the chickens are enormous, the cows are a little too clever, and the cook has a tail. However, his baby sister Hazel, who is forever bending the rules, grows up with some peculiarly romantic notions. First love will make things awkward for everyone, especially the three farmhands who live in Cozy Cottage.

Squee Post. If you need a place to react, confer, or kick up a fuss, this is the spot. I’ll enjoy your enthusiasm, I might be willing to clarify small points, but I reserve the right to evade questions that will be answered later in the series. ::twinkle::

The Cursed Monk

Tuesday’s Tote. I’ve been adding a new fandom book cover to Goodreads & to the fanfic site each week. (Hooray for weekly cover reveals!) As an added bonus, the new pattern becomes available in my Threadless & TeePublic shopfronts. Totes, masks, backpacks, zipper bags, journals, and note cards are available. This week we’re adding an homage to The Cursed Monk.

Summary: Kagome finds a brochure describing a cave with the statue. Thinking it might be Midoriko’s cave, she plans a trip to revisit the site. However, this cave doesn’t contain the legendary miko; instead, it’s an amorous monk. Canon Divergence. [Miroku x Kagome]

OTP. My longest of longtime readers know that Monk x Miko is my “official” OTP (one true pairing). It’s where I started, anyhow, so they get nostalgia points. Truth be told, I have another Mir/Kag fanfic plot!biddie keeping warm in ye olde incubator. We’ll see if it ever hatches. ::twinkle::

News Hound

Updated! Iruka is sent undercover on a mission that bears every resemblance to an enforced vacation. It’s the world’s most boring assignment. And the loneliest. Until a chatty photojournalist named Sukea starts hanging around. Canon Divergence. [Iruka & Kakashi/Sukea/Hound]

This Naruto fanfic updates on Tuesdays. Chapter 8: “Heart Pounding” just posted.

Yashahime: Princess Half-Demon

Three Hanyou Princesses. If you missed the hype, there’s an InuYasha sequel, and simulcasts air every week. The main characters are three young ladies: Moroha (Inuyasha & Kagome’s daughter) and Sesshoumaru’s twin daughters Setsuna (who was raised by Kohaku and has no memory of her sister) and Towa (who was tossed forward in time and was raised by Souta Higurashi.

As a longtime fan of the series, I’m quietly enjoying the frequent allusions/homages. It’s the sort of thing I’d do in a next gen fanfic.

By the end of Ep2, I made up my mind where the plot would go if Yashahime was my story to tell. We’ll see if I’m close. And if not, welp … I already have a Canon Divergent tale in my back pocket. ::twinkle::

Bard & Barbarian

New Chapter. I’ve added this month’s installment to Bard & Barbarian. It’s an original story about two of the OCs I played during my first DnD campaigns. What can I say … I got attached. Their serialized adventure will undoubtedly be a stand-alone book one day, but if you want to be a part of their story while it’s unfolding, become a patron.

Last month’s installment concluded Part 1, so we’re embarking on Part 2 of this tale. Imber’s grown quite a bit, and he’s ready to broaden his horizons. If he can convince a certain adventuring party that he would be an asset. ::twinkle::
