LMM 277: Carry On

Claimer: I do hereby claim all rights and responsibility for the characters in this series of vignettes because the Amaranthine Saga is mine. (Which means I should probably behave myself since anything I say or do could be taken as canon.) Indulge the lot of us, especially the one who needs some air.

Carry On

Jacques was curious about the imminent birth—or births—but he knew his place. Taking Argent by the elbow, he announced to the room at large, “Keep calm and carry on! We’ll make alternate arrangements for the evening meal.”

In the garden, facing the sea wind, Argent muttered, “Birthings….”

“I gathered. So! How about we go see Randolla?”

“Is this really the right time to be visiting one’s tailor?”

“You say that as if there’s a wrong time for visiting one’s tailor.”

Argent snorted.

Jacques quietly pointed out what would normally have been obvious. “The sedge has its own kitchen.”

  2. Forthy – am I right in my counting, which is never assured since numbers elude me – that by the end of Jacques Smythe Month 2022 we’ll ALMOST have enough for his full book?? will 2022 be the Year of Uncle Jackie?? (I say this as celebrating my Hero will be the highlight of my year)
