Twilight deepened, leaving Kagome with touch and sound to orient herself.
Sesshoumaru shuffled her into his side and nuzzled her hair.
“Oi,” grumbled Inuyasha. “My senses are crap, but I’m not totally blind. Yet.”
Sesshoumaru shifted.
Inuyasha grunted. “What the hell was that for?”
“What did he do?” asked Kagome.
“Rather not say.”
Kagome reached across Sesshoumaru and found Inuyasha’s hand balled in his brother’s kimono. He uncurled under her touch. Clawless.
“Oi, Sesshoumaru?”
“Hnn?”
“Tell me stuff. About our old man.”
“Battle exploits?”
Inuyasha sighed. “I already know he was strong. But was he ever… I dunno… like this?”
