Claimer: I do hereby claim all rights and responsibility for the characters in this series of vignettes because the Amaranthine Saga is mine. (Which means I should probably behave myself since anything I say or do could be taken as canon.) Indulge the lot of us, especially the new arrival on the scene.

Do My Colors
Gingko cheerfully presented Jacques with lengths of cloth in several colors. “Pick your poison.”
“What about you?”
“Clan colors for me.” Gingko turned, revealing a wad of blue mostly crammed into his back pocket. “What? You worried we’ll clash?”
“I have standards,” Jacques grumbled, selecting a subtly patterned green.
“Know how to tie it?”
“Haven’t the vaguest.”
“Figured as much.” Gingko offered his palms. “Comfortable with me doing the trussing?”
He was. But he had other issues. Rolling his eyes toward a point along the beach, Jacques muttered, “I would rather not disrobe in front of Lord and Lady Mettlebright.”
