To the Post Office!

I’m off to the post office with a tidy stack of books. Those of you who splurged on an autographed copy will only need a teensy bit more patience. Media Mail can take 7-10 days.

Shipping Tsumiko

Bookplates are also ready, but I’m holding onto the current batch because they contain a surprise/spoiler about Book 2 … and most of you haven’t yet received Book 1. ::impatient harrumph:: Do you want a bookplate, too? Info is on this post >>

By the way, you totally cleared out my stash of print editions, but I’ve ordered more. I’ll let you know once those become available.

Squee Post

I want to establish this for any of you who might like an outlet for your enthusiasm while you read Tsumiko and the Enslaved Fox. You can review every chapter (doin’ it fandom-style) or toss us a fly-by ::glompthrottlegush:: as necessary. I’ll “like” (probably more like love) all your reactions, but I’ll withhold comments for now. I’ll host an Author’s Q&A eventually, after more of you have had a chance to read the book.

So this is fair warning. Comments on this post’s thread may contain SPOILERS.

Photo Challenge

Cameras Ready?! The best way to create buzz about a book release is to get readers involved. I have a few challenges lined up, and the first is simple. Take pictures for me! Snap a picture of Tsumiko and the Enslaved Fox when it arrives. Prop it up in your favorite reading spot. Snag a book-sniffing selfie. Showcase it with other blue books … with props from the story … with your mug of tea … with your pets … with your plushies … with character doodles … with a bowl of ramen. Get creative. Be enthusiastic. Impress me. Be elegant or silly. Make me smile. Because there will be fabulous prizes.  Continue reading

eBook Update

Twinkle Press

I have chatted with the Powers That Be and learned why Amazon hasn’t yet listed the digital edition of Tsumiko and the Enslaved Fox. I won’t bore you with all the rules, regulations, and red tape. Not to mention… addendums. ::shudder::

Long story short, the ebook WILL be available (internationally) from Amazon on Release Day (2/22), but it will not be available for pre-order. On behalf of everyone at Twinkle Press, we apologize for any inconvenience or diminished enthusiasm.

Signed Books

Autographed Copies. A handful of you are requesting signed books, no small feat for an author working behind a pseudonym. But after mulling over my options, I can offer you two. 1) A signed bookplate can be yours at minimal cost, or 2) if you want an actual book that I have actually touched and personalized, the cost will vary depending on your country of origin. (International shipping can be steep!)

First off, a peek at the print edition’s flyleaf and built-in bookplate. (Because forthy really does plan ahead.) Continue reading

Impeccable Beginnings

IY – Youkai Shitsuji by j-lianne

A show of hands! How many of you have reread Impeccable in advance of the release of Tsumiko and the Enslaved Fox? (It’s certainly not required. I’m just curious.) While it’s true that I borrowed some elements from Impeccable when I framed the first book in the Amaranthine Saga, the cast are no longer loaners from Rumiko Takahashi. I know you’ll spot parallels (because I intentionally translated certain elements into the Amaranthine universe), but I hope you’ll be able to see these characters for themselves.  (Most of all, I hope you’ll enjoy the story. That would please me greatly.)

For fun, let’s look at the first chapter of Impeccable, a fanfic I began back in 2009. It’s an AU (alternate universe) adventure I started after a fandom friend made a remark about raunchy slave!fics. ::twinkle:: Continue reading

How big is the book?

One question that’s coming up often enough to qualify as a FAQ is a matter of size. “How long will Tsumiko and the Enslaved Fox be?” And on a related note, are the chapters drabble-length? (Hey, I do have a reputation in that department.)

And let’s face it… I posted pictures of physical copies, but they don’t offer much scale. For all you know, they could be itty-bitty … and hardly worth the price tag. Now, if you read the fine print on most book sale venues, they’ll give dimensions (some sites even list the weight), but that’s never stopped anyone from margin-abuse. ::nods wisely::

So! I have prepared a simple fandom-friendly framework to give you a better sense of size. (Photos included!) Wanna reassure yourself? Continue reading

Book Box!

Yesterday was one of those sit-on-your-hands, distract-self-with-manga kind of days. Because focus is non-existent when you have one eye on the clock and an ear tuned to the distant rumble of delivery trucks in the neighborhood. Because a box from the printer was due… with pre-release copies of Tsumiko and the Enslaved Fox.

The book box FINALLY arrived, but not until after dark. So I waited for daylight to take pictures. Wanna see? Continue reading

Sale Price!!!

I know I’m spamming your inboxes this morning, but you guys must be pre-ordering like crazy because Amazon has actually put Tsumiko and the Enslaved Fox on sale! The nice thing about pre-ordering is that you always get the lowest price. So the upshot of all your purchases is … you’re all getting a price break! Nicely done, squee-buddies!

As of this morning, the book that retails at $16.99 can be had for $14.18. Good job!
