Toe to Toe
“Am I keeping you from your work?” Jacques moved forward to accept the coffee and stayed toe-to-toe.
“Not today. It’s Saturday.”
“Is it?” He sipped and sighed. “An appointment, then? Or some… assignation?”
“Nothing that can’t wait.”
Jacques lightly tapped the knot of Harrison’s bowtie, not a clip-on. “You’re dressed to impress.”
“I need groceries.” He shrugged. “This is how I always dress.”
“Sit with me,” Jacques invited. “Tell me more about yourself, Mr. Peck.”
“Me?” Waving from chart to coffee to crayon masterpieces, Harrison said, “What you see is what you get.”
“Sit with me,” Jacques insisted. “I’m intrigued.”

Not going to lie, I have a hard time keeping track of all the characters, especially as supporting characters that play small parts in one story can become very relevant in other stories in either a small or large way, and that every character seems to be significant in some way at some point.

I have a glossary/handbook sort of thingie in the works, but I won’t publish it until after the Saga is complete. It’ll include a comprehensive cast list. (And enough short stories to make it worth adding to one’s shelf.)

Nice that we get to know more about Harrison. I’m glad you are putting together a glossary for us. I can never keep track of all the players either but I’m always delighted to see them front and center again. Even “minor” characters are given your attention and they all play an important part. ❤️
