Claimer: I do hereby claim all rights and responsibility for the characters in this series of vignettes because the Amaranthine Saga is mine. (Which means I should probably behave myself since anything I say or do could be taken as canon.) Indulge the lot of us, especially the successful ones.

Jostle
Sonnet had shimmied out of stockings, so he strode through the kitchen door barefoot… and stopped so fast, Jacques jostled into him.
Lord. What had tucked his tail?
There was plenty going on, but given recent dishing, Jacques supposed it had to be the cats.
Kyrie hurried forward, a kitten cradled to his chest. “They’re new! We’re naming them!”
“The petition worked? Magnifique.”
“Oh!” the boy gasped. “That’s a good one!”
Lilya, who presided over a basket of mewing fuzzballs, exclaimed, “Yes! Perfect, Uncle Jackie.”
“Rather doggish,” remarked Catalan, whose gaze rested on Sonnet.
Canarian hummed. “French names are lovely.”
