Hisoka was also there, his chair pulled close to Michael’s, their hands curled around steaming mugs.
Sonnet tried to back up. Straight into Jacques.
“Right, then.” Stealing the baby, Jacques yielded Vanya to his papka. “We’ll just freshen up. Won’t be a minute.”
He caught Sonnet’s hand and pulled him along until they reached Jacques’ own suite. Door secured, he asked, “Sonnet?”
The wolf whispered an apology.
“Why?”
“They’ll know.”
“What will they know?” Jacques tried teasing. “That your name is French and therefore lovely?”
“That I’m all stirred up.” Sonnet softly amended, “That you have me all stirred up.”
