Claimer: I do hereby claim all rights and responsibility for the characters in this series of vignettes because the Amaranthine Saga is mine. (Which means I should probably behave myself since anything I say or do could be taken as canon.) Indulge the lot of us, especially the one with a decided height advantage.

Such a Gentleman
They made one last stop. Sonnet gave Vanya a bottle, but her mind was elsewhere. Eventually, she asked, “Am I ridiculous?”
“I find you wonderful. Is that enough?”
Sonnet considered. “Is there more?”
“There can be.” Jacques twiddled his fingers at her travel dress. “While you’re far from Rubenesque, you’re a handsome enough lady. What’s the usual term? Statuesque.”
“Do I look like a mother?”
“Every inch,” he staunchly assured.
“You’re not just… being a gentleman?”
Jacques struck a pose. “I am always a gentleman. Which is why I need you to slip out of your shoes for a moment.”

Does Nonny still have his eyes on Jaques? How old would he be now?

Mmm … let’s see. Part 3 of LMM begins in summer of 5 N.S. with the arrival of Akira at Stately House. That’s Ch325: “Permanent Resident.” And the most recent Nonny arc began around Ch364: “Always the Last Place.” This current chapter is set during that same autumn. (We’ve successfully linked this timeline with Bk3: Tamiko and the Two Janitors, so we’re into October.) And Nonny is planning to attend high school in Keishi, beginning January 1 (only a couple of months away.)
Which means that yes, it’s only been a handful of weeks. Nonny’s feelings haven’t changed.
As to Nonny’s *exact* age, they don’t know. He’s hit a growth spurt and is well into his adolescence at this point. The consensus at Stately House is … fifteen. But they have no idea how Nonny will age. And that’s a matter of concern for those who care about him.

Thank you! It felt like such a long time ago. It’s good to have a better grasp on the timeline. The details have me hooked. 🙂

Jacques will always be there for Nonny but he well knows that Nonny has a lot of maturing yet to go. School will broaden his horizons and his friendships. ❤️❤️
