Claimer: I do hereby claim all rights and responsibility for the characters in this series of vignettes because the Amaranthine Saga is mine. (Which means I should probably behave myself since anything I say or do could be taken as canon.) Indulge the lot of us, especially the one who’s barefoot.

Ask Better Questions
Jacques led Josheb into a nearby room to change.
Once the door shut, Josheb ventured, “I thought Ginkgo was Lord Mettlebright’s only son.”
“So inquisitive. And about all the wrong things.”
“What should I be asking about?”
“Your entrée into the Fundoshi Swim Club.” Jacques genially confided, “There’s a dress code.”
“And my next question would be…?”
“What’s a fundoshi?”
“I’ll bite. What’s a fundoshi?”
Jacques raised his voice. “Sonnet, be a dear? Help me gird our guest?”
A light rap preceded Sonnet into the room. He was already dressed for the beach.
Josheb gaped. “That’s… a lot of skin.”
