Slow to Trust

Jacques rejoined Argent, who was entertaining.

“Sooo… kitchen!” Josheb rapped the tabletop. “Can’t be where everyone eats. You’ve got… how many students?”

“That information is not public,” Argent said blandly.

“But we’re not in public.” The American beamed. “I made it inside the house this time. Doesn’t that mean you trust me a little?”

“This is your fourth incursion,” said Argent.

“Harsh,” muttered Josheb.

“Up until now, you have not boasted about, reported on, or otherwise leaked any details about us.”

“Hey, I wouldn’t do that!”

“More importantly, you did not do that. So I will trust you. A little.”
