Claimer: I do hereby claim all rights and responsibility for the characters in this series of vignettes because the Amaranthine Saga is mine. (Which means I should probably behave myself since anything I say or do could be taken as canon.) Indulge the lot of us, especially the one who’s actually pretty strict.

Completely Irresponsible
“You don’t want a crosser,” Nonny accused.
Jacques gazed into the sky. “Mmm. In my case, that’s probably a point in your favor.”
Nonny thumped him. “Are you stupid? Why are you telling me that?”
“Because it’s true.”
“But… but it’s so irresponsible!”
“I won’t lie to you.”
“You can’t put me off, then say something like that! It’s… confusing.”
Jacques attempted to clarify. “I was talking about me.”
Nonny fidgeted. “So you’d consider a crosser?”
“Hypothetically… or specifically?”
“Does the answer change from one to the next?”
Having already pledged honesty, Jacques could only say, “In your earshot? Probably.”
