Claimer: I do hereby claim all rights and responsibility for the characters in this series of vignettes because the Amaranthine Saga is mine. (Which means I should probably behave myself since anything I say or do could be taken as canon.) Indulge the lot of us, especially for the expressive one.

Stranger Danger
Michael frowned. “You’re not usually shy of strangers, Nonny. Come over here.”
The kid dragged his hooves.
Hooking an arm around Nonny’s waist and smiling up at him, Michael warmly asked, “You haven’t held Vanya yet, have you?”
“S’right.” And warily, “How come he’s got ’im?”
“We’re letting everyone get a whiff.” Michael chuckled. “Not sure how Cat managed to get him away from Sensei.”
“Canary distracted Uncle.” Cat gazed at Vanya with the gentlest of expressions.
Nonny glared.
Jacques struggled to master his frustration over Nonny’s stubbornness. “Cat knows what he’s about, brat. He and Canarian are foster parents.”
