Claimer: I do hereby claim all rights and responsibility for the characters in this series of vignettes because the Amaranthine Saga is mine. (Which means I should probably behave myself since anything I say or do could be taken as canon.) Indulge the lot of us, especially the responsible one.

Weighing Responsibilities
Argent lingered, puttering about the edges of the suite, adding wards that were probably so redundant as to be pointless.
“Don’t you have to go orchestrate peace on Hisoka’s behalf?”
“Twineshaft is hardly in a position to criticize my methods.”
Jacques smiled over Nonny’s choices in accoutrements. “Do you wish to dress for dinner?”
“I am thinking.”
“About…?”
Argent huffed. “I intend to take responsibility for the Orchid Saddle.”
“Will you bury their treasure at Stately House?”
“And endanger the children?” he countered acidly.
“Touché.” With a fond smile, Jacques whispered, “And this is why they remind me of you.”
