LMM 332: Just the Thing

Claimer: I do hereby claim all rights and responsibility for the characters in this series of vignettes because the Amaranthine Saga is mine. (Which means I should probably behave myself since anything I say or do could be taken as canon.) Indulge the lot of us, especially the one who favors forget-me-nots.

Jacques guided Lapis to the kitchen. Sansa took one look and manhandled their guest into a nearby parlor. “Sit. I will bring something heartening.”

Jacques feared it would be one of her diabolical doses.

Lapis slouched. “Everything in here is blue.”

Oui.”

“Coincidence?”

Sansa returned with a tray—steaming bowl, dainty spoon, and a sprig of forget-me-nots. The custard smelled of liquor and spice.

Lapis brightened, then blinked, looking up at Sansa with widening eyes.

“Is good, yes?” She put the spoon in his hand. “Do not leave a drop.”

Lapis murmured, “Not a coincidence.”

Fluting softly, he finally smiled.

  3. Ohh…glad to see him perked up. Sansa is magic. A runcible spoon…I read that poem to my daughter nearly every night when she was growing up. I still know it by heart…so does she. It was out favorite. ❤️❤️❤️
