LMM 308: Safe as Houses

Safe as Houses

“Argent’s reasons were probably really simple. Like giving you a safe place to go deep. And someone to dream with. Again, moi.”

Inti slid from Jacques’ shoulders to face him. “Inti is safe?”

“Exquisitely safe. Blissfully, even, since you’re asleep in my arms.”

“Safe with foxes. Safe from foxes.” Inti shook his head. “He stole me.”

“Wait a tick. Argent did? In a reprehensible way? Or in a rescuing way?”

“In a foxy way.”

“I thought we’d established that foxiness isn’t all bad.”

“Pending, pending, depends.”

“On what?”

Standing taller, Inti’s whole demeanor shifted. “On what he wants from me.”
