Claimer: I do hereby claim all rights and responsibility for the characters in this series of vignettes because the Amaranthine Saga is mine. (Which means I should probably behave myself since anything I say or do could be taken as canon.) Indulge the lot of us, especially the thorough one.

Hunting Ground
Jacques nodded. “Shall we ask?”
For several moments, Inti considered him with unnerving calculation. But then he clambered onto Jacques’ shoulders, clamping on like a monkey-boy helmet and slipping back into nonsense. “Ask, ask, ask.”
“Right. At your convenience, my lord.”
The scene shifted.
A classroom?
Jacques, now wearing one of his more sensible suits, strolled to the window. Cold daylight. Falling snow. Familiar territory. “This is Keishi.”
“Which has become the hunting ground for a monster.” Argent leaned against a lectern, tails flagging. “There are safeguards in place, but I like to be thorough. Inti will be my failsafe.”

Just re-read the last few chapters to pick up on a little that I missed the first times around… poor Inti, he’s been through the wringer. I have to wonder just what it is about him that makes him Argent’s fail safe?
