LMM 310: Mediation

Claimer: I do hereby claim all rights and responsibility for the characters in this series of vignettes because the Amaranthine Saga is mine. (Which means I should probably behave myself since anything I say or do could be taken as canon.) Indulge the lot of us, especially the one who was caged.

Jacques guessed he was playing go-between. “Just to be clear… you stole this boy in order to hurl him into fresh peril?”

“You sound disappointed in me.”

“Help me understand why I shouldn’t be.”

The scene changed, returning to Inti’s nightmare.

“Crossers are not lab animals.” Argent’s tails lashed. “This boy’s cries were my compass. I tracked him. I took him.”

Jacques asked, “Why not bring him to Stately House?”

“Inti is… unique.”

“Lord. Aren’t we all?”

“Ingenuity. Subtlety. Fortitude. He shows promise with sigilcraft, and I believe he is a Reach.” Argent extended a hand. “My offer is apprenticeship.”

  2. I don’t think the Reaver designation of “Reach” has been described, unless one of the Dare Brothers was also a Reach. Yet, I do know it was what makes Tenma and Inti such a good pair!

  3. The term reach is mentioned in the book Mikoto and the Reaver Village. If you haven’t read it, I won’t spoil it, but if you have, you should go re-read. ☺️
