I’m de-lurking since Vitreous was sweet enough to nudge me. ::group glomp:: I’ve missed you, my fandom friends! But you’re foremost in my mind. In fact, you’re the reason I’ve been so scarce since wrapping up Lord Charming. You see, I’m writing you a book.
Q. An original story? What’s it about, you wretched tease? Continue reading

The latest installment of one of my favorite stories came out this week—Volume 20 of Natsume’s Book of Friends by Yuki Midorikawa.

A bad cold is as good a reason as any to hide in bed with a box of tissues, a packet of cough drops, and an endless supply of anime. One recent indulgence has been March Comes in Like a Lion by Chica Umino. The main character, Rei Kiriyama, is a seventeen-year-old shogi player who turned pro while still in middle school. Episodes explore Continue reading

Sesshoume slept little, prowled often, and relished a thousand Continue reading

The latest volume of The Ancient Magus’ Bride by Kore Yamazaki arrived with a bonus. The special booklet contains a sweet little side story. This series continues to enthrall me with its art and storytelling. On a related note, the first episode of an anime is currently available on Crunchyroll. I indulged my curiosity and was mildly surprised that Continue reading

In the footer of updates to my drabble-based stories, I record the original posting date, the writing prompt, and the word count. At the moment, I’m gearing up to continue Savvy, a quirky tropical AU featuring Kouga and Kagome. Continue reading
For all those who staunchly refuse to begin a story until the author marks it complete … have at it! Lord Charming‘s tale is all told! ::twinkle::
Five chapters left. And I know what needs to happen in each. But the simultaneous culmination and climax of a tale always turns me into a dithering emotional wreck. Saying goodbye to a story is Hard, and not only because so many of you are trusting me to End Well. I’m gonna miss Lord Charming, too! ::wibble::
I’m regularly asked about my writing process. In a recent comment, Anil asked a series of questions. Here are my responses:
Anil: I was wondering if you pre-write your material in advance, or schedule your writing sessions?
Forthy: This sounds wishy-washy, but it really depends. Unless an author lands a serial gig, our original stories don’t see the light of day until we have a completed manuscript. So I do a whole lot of pre-writing. Fandom is a refreshing exception. I usually Continue reading
In answer to recent inquiries…
Yes, Clumsy is on a short break. The lapse in updates was an unintentional consequence of holiday busyness (which was why I never made any official announcement). Lord Charming is experiencing a similar lull while I’m working out my writing schedule for 2017. These two stories will resume next week.
As always, thank you for your patience! ::twinkle::

Enough. Sesshoume was done sitting back, deferring, enduring. Continue reading
