Argent growled, and Michael quickly said, “He’s not in danger. Timur’s… well, he’s sad.”
“Why?” Argent’s tone promised death.
“Let me back up. Old friend, it would seem that I’m a grandfather. Twenty-four times over. With another baby on the way.”
Argent actually looked confused. “How?”
“At some point, he decided to… do his part.”
Jacques couldn’t even imagine. Actually, he was doing his best not to think about the mechanics of single-handedly kicking off a Spomenka baby boom.
“And Timur…?” Argent pressed.
“…was hoping to settle down.”
Jacques lowered his gaze. That one? Oh, yes. That he could imagine.
