Claimer: I do hereby claim all rights and responsibility for the characters in this series of vignettes because the Amaranthine Saga is mine. (Which means I should probably behave myself since anything I say or do could be taken as canon.) Indulge the lot of us, especially the one who isn’t alone.

Rejigging Schedules
“I am going.” Argent wavered. “Can I go?”
Jacques waved a hand. “Lord, it’s fine. I’ll handle the fall-out. Clear your schedule and shore up any gaps.”
“I will get to Timur. Reassure him. Michael, pack and be ready tomorrow. After that, Ginkgo will want a turn.” Argent grimly swore, “He will not be alone.”
Again, Jacques lowered his gaze.
“How far along…?”
“In her fifth month.”
Jacques was grateful that human pregnancies only lasted nine. He shied away from the attendant knowledge that Amaranthine pregnancies took thirty-six months. And that Sonnet had been gone twice that long… and longer.
