Jacques lolled among the furs that lined Jiminy’s den and watched embedded crystals winking like scattered stardust. Argent might like to add something similar to the naproom’s ceiling. Jacques would bring it up. Michael could sort it out.
Inti wriggled closer and whispered, “Why is Jacques awake?”
“Because I cannot sleep.”
“Same for Inti.”
Actually, Torloo wasn’t sleeping either, but he’d taken truest form and lay across the den’s door.
Inti’s hand found Jacques’ and a crystal slid against his palm. “Tell Inti all about it.”
“All about what?”
The crosser kissed Jacques’ cheek and begged, “Trade secrets with me?”
