LMM 577: Tempting Terms

Claimer: I do hereby claim all rights and responsibility for the characters in this series of vignettes because the Amaranthine Saga is mine. (Which means I should probably behave myself since anything I say or do could be taken as canon.) Indulge the lot of us, especially the one looking forward to summer.

Tempting Terms

“While I’m very much a tea and slippers kind of friend, I must decline for this evening. Can you forgive me?”

“It’s fine. I know I can’t monopolize you.”

“You’re welcome to try.” Jacques breezily added, “I have to sleep somewhere.”

“Oh? And where are you sleeping tonight?”

“Alas, I can’t go into any great detail.”

“Question withdrawn. I shouldn’t have even asked.” Harrison’s tone shifted. “I’ve been considering the contract your dragon friend brought over.”

“Quick work! What’s the offer?”

“Two months. Annually. With the option to stay longer.”

“Tempting terms?”

“Gosh, yes.”

“You’ll come?”

Harrison laughed. “Gosh, yes.”

  2. How wonderful that Jacques will have a new friend at Stately House! Those 2 months will bring a much needed change of pace and excitement to his schedule. I think a human friend is exactly what he needs to balance out his days there.
