Claimer: I do hereby claim all rights and responsibility for the characters in this series of vignettes because the Amaranthine Saga is mine. (Which means I should probably behave myself since anything I say or do could be taken as canon.) Indulge the lot of us, especially the ones on friendly terms.

When in Rome
Harrison smuggled Jacques into a booth at the back corner of the hall where bingo would transpire. People were already claiming seats and ordering snacks.
“Do you want something from the concession stand?”
Jacques suggested, “You choose.”
“It’s nothing fancy.”
“No matter. Although I draw the line at imitation cheese.”
“Noted!” And with a teasing air, Harrison asked, “Would you like your frozen lemonade stirred or shaken?”
“When in Rome. Guide my choices, sensei.”
Harrison beamed. “If you want the good stuff, we could hit up Swifty’s after.”
“Haute cuisine?”
“Archer’s finest,” he promised. “I’ll bring snacks, but save room.”
