Claimer: I do hereby claim all rights and responsibility for the characters in this series of vignettes because the Amaranthine Saga is mine. (Which means I should probably behave myself since anything I say or do could be taken as canon.) Indulge the lot of us, especially the local celebrity.

They chatted about the Twineshaft Initiative and bingo strategy. Jacques learned that Harrison took ballroom lessons on the sly. Something to do with a co-worker at Landmark.
Harrison’s name rang out—again—and he traded salutations with yet another local.
“Do you know everyone?”
“If they’ve had a student at Landmark in the last decade, then yes. In fact, some of my first kids are now sending their children to us.”
“I can’t even imagine.”
“It’s only natural.”

Harrison searched his face. “Is that why you’re downhearted?”

JACQUES :sobs: this poor guy. He’s not old by human standards (he’s…late 20s right now? did I remember the timeline/his age right?) but because of the people he cares for and the world he inhabits that accepts him, he has these thoughts buried inside that he knows would only make those he cares about worry. Which he doesn’t want because I’m willing to bet he doesn’t want that to be their lasting impression of him in 100 years when he’s more memory then conscious thought.

I am surprised that Uncle Jackie didn’t go to Michael and Sansa for this type of advice. They also have human life spans. And while I understand his feelings, and know what will happen in Pimiko…I am kinda shocked by the aspect that he is “lonely” versus “not special powered”.

Mmm. I don’t think Jacques is looking for advice.
… and Harrison’s impression is colored by Harrison’s background & limited knowledge. ::twinkle::
