Claimer: I do hereby claim all rights and responsibility for the characters in this series of vignettes because the Amaranthine Saga is mine. (Which means I should probably behave myself since anything I say or do could be taken as canon.) Indulge the lot of us, especially the one who’s had a long day.

Sinking Feeling
Jacques’ reserves were entirely depleted by the time he ushered Sonnet to the onsen. Cat and Canary were in fine form, and Jacques settled back to watch them work.
Sonnet’s shyness melted like bath salts, and he was soon trading confidences with Cat and sighing under Canarian’s kneading hands.
Tête-à-tête and massage à trois.
The wolf did keep glancing his way. Amber eyes.
Jacques offered a hazy smile. “Not to be gauche, but I knew you’d get on. Très bien.”
Canary’s gaze turned thoughtful, while Cat’s glittered with possibilities. Flame. Emerald.
Jacques hummed appreciatively and sank lower, then listed sideways.
