New Arrivals

Argent lounged beside an unremarkable door, his gaze cool and assessing.

Jacques stood a little straighter. “My lord?”

“There were arrivals while you were off gallivanting. Keep them occupied.”

He glanced at the door. “I’ll certainly… ah.”

Argent had vanished.

Right, then. Jacques rapped and let himself in.

“Uncle Jackie!” Isla exclaimed. “Do close the door. We’re not meant to be here. At least, not officially. Do you remember my mentioning the other members of my triad? Well, it was more of a quad, I suppose….”

She rambled through introductions even though Jacques certainly did know Inti and Tenma. Unofficially.
