LMM 493: Clay Wards

Claimer: I do hereby claim all rights and responsibility for the characters in this series of vignettes because the Amaranthine Saga is mine. (Which means I should probably behave myself since anything I say or do could be taken as canon.) Indulge the lot of us, especially the one who is no reaver.

Clay Wards

Bamboo skewers and a jumble of metal instruments that looked suspiciously like lockpicks strew across a table. Jacques eyed Inti, who smiled sweetly while kneading a gray lump.

Mon dieu. Tell me you’re not messing with plastic explosives.”

Inti snickered.

“It’s clay, of course,” Isla corrected. “A traditional medium for sigilcraft. Inti’s been showing us since clay wards are his mentor’s specialty.”

Jacques’ brows lifted.

“She means Goh-sensei,” offered Tenma.

The monkey-crosser extended an intricately-pierced disk, inquiring, “See?”

“Alas, I can only really see the magic when Michael holds my hand.”

Inti hopped up. “Can he, can see, can we?”

  3. I need to catch up again. The last few chapters have been golden! ❤️ I love seeing all the familiar faces. I also love how they have all been given into Jacques care.
