LMM 489: Sometimes

Claimer: I do hereby claim all rights and responsibility for the characters in this series of vignettes because the Amaranthine Saga is mine. (Which means I should probably behave myself since anything I say or do could be taken as canon.) Indulge the lot of us, especially the one who needs things, too.

Sonnet’s grumbling murmur was back, and Jacques left himself open to the wolf’s careful lapping. Sonnet probably needed this. Instincts and all.

Jacques knew that he was a safe partner for sleep and for play. Nothing reaverish to tempt or trap, no strings attached. Picked up, yet always put back.

Sonnet drew back—hazy, happy. “It’s nice, kissing.”

“Yes… rather.”

“May I kiss you sometimes?”

Jacques hesitated.

Sonnet reasoned, “You give Catalan and Canarian sometimes.”

Mon dieu. That’s… it’s different!”

Utterly radiant, Sonnet whispered, “Good.”
