Claimer: I do hereby claim all rights and responsibility for the characters in this series of vignettes because the Amaranthine Saga is mine. (Which means I should probably behave myself since anything I say or do could be taken as canon.) Indulge the lot of us, especially the one who’s exercising restraint.

Only a Little
Jacques believed that kisses shouldn’t be perfunctory. Sonnet might have no interest in bonds, but he deserved affection. So keeping lustier impulses carefully closeted, Jacques stayed soft and chaste.
Sonnet pressed nearer, peeping through his lashes.
Smiling, Jacques kissed the corner of his mouth.
A low whine.
“Hmm?”
A whispered confession. “I… I want a taste.”
“Is that wise?”
Nearly cross-eyed with closeness, Sonnet asked, “Does it have to be?”
“I am trying to be responsible.”
Sonnet grumbled, “I can be a gentleman, too.”
“Oh… damn.” Jacques really was too easily carried away.
Sonnet huskily promised, “Only a little.”
