Claimer: I do hereby claim all rights and responsibility for the characters in this series of vignettes because the Amaranthine Saga is mine. (Which means I should probably behave myself since anything I say or do could be taken as canon.) Indulge the lot of us, especially the welcome one.

More than Ornamental
Jacques exited the bath to find furs already spread… and Sonnet seated upon them.
His dress hung neatly from a peg, and his hair fell loose around bare shoulders. Vanya draped limply along his forearm, snoozing contentedly in jonquil yellow jammies.
“I’ll watch over your sleep.” Sonnet tentatively added, “If I’m welcome.”
“I do more holding than being held.”
Sonnet’s tail rustled against the bedding. “I could hold you.”
“How much privacy do we have?”
Rising, Sonnet handed off Vanya, then moved around the room, turning crystal columns that weren’t just ornamental.
Sonnet returned, his gaze expectant. “It’s just us.”
