Claimer: I do hereby claim all rights and responsibility for the characters in this series of vignettes because the Amaranthine Saga is mine. (Which means I should probably behave myself since anything I say or do could be taken as canon.) Indulge the lot of us, especially the one who found himself at Stately House.

Deaf and Blind
Jacques was intensely curious about Kip’s delicate matter, but Michael’s return from Glintrubble thoroughly distracted Lapis. The dragon helped unpack arrays of crystals, caressing their facets and coaxing out their lingering melodies.
Deaf and blind to such wonders, Jacques turned to Argent. “Is this Jimsy’s final thesis?”
“A reasonable comparison, though attainment is not limited to academic achievement. Michael is overseeing one facet of a larger rite of passage. Jiminy will be recognized as an adult male of his pack.”
“What was yours?”
Argent hesitated. “A journey.”
“Where did you go?”
He turned the question back. “Where would you go?”

This is all honestly perfect timing – I’m currently listening to Tamiko in my efforts to get ready for Pimiko! So, so fun to listen in from the other side ✨

Wasn’t Argent caught on his first journey out? No good deed goes unpunished (a favorite military motto). Loved the way our favorite fox redirected that question.

Can’t blame Argent for evading that line of questioning. Bet Tsumiko is the only one that knows, and unintentionally because of the fox dream.
