Jacques chivvied Argent to his closet. “Fresh shirt!”
“This one is fine.”
“That tunic is barely acceptable even when it is clean.”
Argent glanced down, possibly for the first time in hours. “Ah.”
“Good grooming is only slightly contagious, and you show no symptoms.”
“I hardly spit up upon myself.”
Jacques extended a semi-formal tunic in the Mettlebright colors, then packed two others.
“Surely luggage is not required.”
“I’ll not let you slight Dwennon or the First Herd.” He held out silver-stitched breeches. “Attire is a subtle, unspoken compliment. Very fox-worthy. Trust me.”
Argent sighed. “This is why I do.”
