“This one knows what she needs,” crooned Sansa.
“People generally do,” remarked Adoona-soh.
Jacques risked a glance. Sure enough, Adoona was looking right at Sonnet, whose tail lifted.
Argent asked, “You needed me?”
“If you can spare the time,” Michael began tentatively. “I need to arrange for a series of crystals for Kurogi-kun. Something just off-key, so he’ll have to bring them into balance. I’d prefer to choose them myself.”
“You need a ride.”
“To Glintrubble.”
“When?”
“I could go get my coat…?”
“Rearrange my calendar, Smythe. I will be away.” Gazing off after Michael, Argent blandly added, “Family emergency.”
