Claimer: I do hereby claim all rights and responsibility for the characters in this series of vignettes because the Amaranthine Saga is mine. (Which means I should probably behave myself since anything I say or do could be taken as canon.) Indulge the lot of us, especially the inviting one.

New Moon Festival
“Come, now. Confess.”
Sonnet flopped to the mattress, all pretense of posturing gone.
Jacques rolled to face him and lifted an arm.
Scooting closer, the wolf hid his face against Jacques’ pajamas and mumbled, “The moon.”
“Mm-hmm?”
“There are wolvish festivals.”
“So I’ve heard. Isn’t the next one for unattached males such as yourself?”
Sonnet crooned a mournful note.
“The Elderbough pack will be observing.”
“I don’t want them.”
“You want me?” Jacques fitted pieces together. “Is that why you invited me to run with you?”
Sonnet tensed.
“Will you accept a verbal répondez?”
“S’il vous plait.”
Jacques promised, “Oui.”
