Claimer: I do hereby claim all rights and responsibility for the characters in this series of vignettes because the Amaranthine Saga is mine. (Which means I should probably behave myself since anything I say or do could be taken as canon.) Indulge the lot of us, especially the one who admires beauty.

Living Gold
“Lord, you’re tall,” Jacques complained.
Sonnet sat upon the wall, giving Jacques better access to an intricate pattern of amber swirls that gleamed softly against bare skin.
“In a way, I’ve never seen my blaze either.” Sonnet peeped over his shoulder. “Only in mirrors. Or… reflected in your eyes.”
“May I touch? Is that rude?”
“It’s certainly personal, but you may.”
Jacques traced Sonnet’s blaze, admiring the artistry. It was as if he’d been inset with living gold.
Sonnet’s tail puffed and settled.
Jacques glanced guiltily. “Too much?”
“No.” With a low laugh, Sonnet confessed, “I’m not impervious to compliments.”

Sonnet is a noble wolf, a beauty and already a good foster parent of a fine boy – and I bet he is good with sigilgraft, at least more than the average grandson or great-grandson of Glint.
