“Oh, man! Oh, wow!” Josheb ran ahead, leaping onto the wall edging the long drop to the beach.

Sonnet hurried after, protective as ever. Jacques took his sweet time.

Suuzu, in truest form, banked into a showy turn that revealed Nonny and Akira clasped in his talons. He swooped to cheers, then beat his wings, suspending them for a moment before dropping his passengers into the sea.

“Nonny always goes with a buddy,” Jacques explained. “He’s not our strongest swimmer, but he can never get enough ….”

But Josheb wasn’t listening.

“Over here! Suuzu!” Josheb whistled and waved. “Do me!”
