LMM 383: Fleeting Youth

Claimer: I do hereby claim all rights and responsibility for the characters in this series of vignettes because the Amaranthine Saga is mine. (Which means I should probably behave myself since anything I say or do could be taken as canon.) Indulge the lot of us, especially the one who’s at that age.

“Went over my head, did you?” Jacques accused mildly.

“Guess so.”

“Are you going to leave me in suspense?”

“Might do. It’d serve you right.” There wasn’t much sass in the token retort.

Jacques was sorely tempted to apply his considerable powers of persuasion to the situation, but his scintilla of moral fiber forbade. “Did you at least apologize?”

“Yeah. Right off. But that cat had this barmy idea….” Nonny’s expression was impossible to read by nightlight. “He thought maybe—since I’m the right age just now and everything—that I might like to go to a proper high school.”

  2. This was one of the possible outcomes I could imagine.
I am sure they will let him go to New Saga. It will do him good to socialize.
It is a sign for great trust from Jacques, Argent and Hisoka – they have many secrets and people to protect.
But like all good parents – Jacques will be proud and worried and miss him terribly.
I know of at least one other boy from the USA who would be at that age – he would like Nonny.

  4. Oh! How exciting that would be for Nonny. The socialization will be good for him. Jacques will have to loosen those apron strings a bit though.
