Claimer: I do hereby claim all rights and responsibility for the characters in this series of vignettes because the Amaranthine Saga is mine. (Which means I should probably behave myself since anything I say or do could be taken as canon.) Indulge the lot of us, especially the one who found safety in numbers.

Heart to Heart
Nonny found him sleepless in the naproom.
“Thought you were going to be with Lapis,” he quietly accused.
“Changed my mind.” Jacques wasn’t exactly hiding. Neither was he stashed behind a barrier.
“Room for one more?” mumbled Nonny.
He simply lifted the corner of his blanket, same as always.
Nonny barged right in, which was also the usual.
Jacques remarked, “You certainly underwent a change of heart…?”
“Guess so.”
“Have you been with Catalan this whole time?”
“I suppose he was hanging about for most of it.” Nonny finally sought his gaze. “I was having a talk with the guv.”

Very curious about what Catalan said to Nonny… and now what the guv has said, too!
