Pardonne-moi?”

Juuyu’s gaze sharpened. “How is he with sway?”

Argent sniffed. “Immune. Naturally.”

Sinder rounded on Jacques. “Completely?”

“You’re welcome to make an attempt.” Jacques warmed to the idea. “Shall I kiss your nose?”

“Maybe later,” Sinder muttered, clearly on edge. “Do you have any experience handling a roomful of people who are used to getting their own way. As in… always.”

Jacques almost laughed.

Argent said, “Smythe generally gets his own way. Your cabal is outmatched.”

Sinder looked skeptical.

Tsk.” Argent held Jacques’ gaze. “You should be capable of this much.”

What else could he say? “Yes, my lord.”
