Although he pulled up short an instant before they could collide, momentum caused Sesshoumaru’s hair to swish around Kagome. Her heart leapt. His stripes were a deep, rich amber. A new color. And her return had inspired it.
He inhaled deeply and seemed to blush, for his stripes washed to rose.
She took his hand, shyly tracing the stripes at his wrist, watching as they leapt back to that joyous amber. Then there was a knuckle under her chin, lifting.
He searched her face and broke the silence. “Hnn.”
Kagome did her best to be wildly, unabashedly pink for him.
